Hello: Within the last year DNA testing between myself and another distant Seymour cousin indicates that we are both direct descendants of Richard Seymour (d 1655 CT). It is generally believed that our ancestors were from Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England between 1560 and 1638/9 when Richard immigrated to Connecticut with his family. Prior to this period it seems that most assume that we are of Norman descent (re William The Conqueror, Hastings 1066 period) and may even be connected to Jane Seymour's family (Henry VIII's wife). Our paternal family may be of Roman/Turkish origin based on my hapogroup, R1b1b2* [M269+, S127-, S128-, S129-]( https://www.familytreedna.com/public/ht35new ).
