1757 at New Canaan, Conn., died at Greenfield, N.Y., 12 Sept. 1846; married
first, at New Canaan, 15 Mar. 1784, MERCY<sup>4</sup> CARTER, born at Norwalk, Conn., 5
Oct. 1761, died 11 Jan. 1806, daughter of John<sup>3</sup> (//Ebenezer//<sup>2</sup>,
//Samuel//<sup>1</sup>) and Hannah (Benedict); married second, MARIAN DICKSON, who died 13
Feb. 1835, aged 75 yrs. 8 mos.

Nathaniel Seymour acted in capacity of private during War of Revolution in Capt.
Daniel Benedict's Company, 9th Connecticut, and under Col. John Mead marched to
New York 12 Aug. 1776. He was taken sick and was ill for a year. In the Summer
of 1778, he enlisted in Capt. Reuben Scofield's Co., 9th Regiment, under Col.
John Mead, and from then until the end of the war was called out from time to
time guarding the coast and frontier. He was on duty during the New Haven alarm,
5 July 1779. He was placed on Pension Roll at Saratoga, N.Y., 7 Mar. 1833.
Pension granted 4 Mar. 1831. Signed by Louis Cass, Sec. of War.

He moved from New Canaan, Conn., in 1787 to Greenfield, N.Y.  In 1790 Nathaniel
lived at Ballston, N.Y., with wife and two males
under sixteen years. He was living with Thomas Seymour in 1840,
a pensioner, aged 83, in Greenfield, N.Y.
