106. Ebenezer Seymour

106. EBENEZER6 SEYMOUR (Elisha5, John4, John3, John2, Richard1), born about 1756, died at Rome, N.Y., about 1808; married at Farmington, Conn., 5 May 1777, ACHSAH WOODRUFF, born in 1755, daughter of James and Lydia (Curtiss).

He served in the 4th Co. (Lt. Charles Seymour), 1st Conn. Regt. (Maj. Roger Newberry), in the Campaign around New York in Aug. and Sept. 1776.

In 1790 the family lived in Herkimer, N.Y., and afterwards in Oneida County.

i. ARCHIBALD7, b. 20 Oct. 1777; d. at Mayville, Chautauqua Co., N.Y., 2 Apr. 1842; m. 1 Jan. 1802, ANNIS YOUNG, b. 25 Apr. 1783, d. 25 June 1867, dau. of James and Hannah (Fuller). He was commissioned Ensign in the Oneida County Militia, 1806; Captain, 1811; and was replaced in 1811. He was a carpenter, of Lee, Oneida Co., and removed 1831 to Mayville, Chautauqua Co., N.Y.

X. James Harvey, b. 20 Feb. 1822; res. Gloversville. N.Y.; m. 11 Mar. 1856, Mary Leonard North, b. at Johnstown, N.Y., 2 Jan. 1832, dau. of Seth and Mary (Smith). He was a dentist for over 25 years, then engaged in the lumber business and in 1873 removed to West Meriden, Conn.
