107. ELI6 SEYMOUR (Elisha5, John4, John3, John2, Richard1), born at West Hartford, Conn., 1 Nov. 1761, died at Palmyra, N.Y., 1 Apr. 1843; married first, at New Hartford, 27 Nov. 1788, AMY5 MARSH, born at New Hartford, 20 Apr. 1765, died Jan. 1805, daughter of Moses4 (Capt. Jonathan3, John2, John1) and Sarah (Merrill); married second, 10 Oct. 1807, SALOME (KENT) SEXTON, born 2 Sept. 1774, died at Palmyra, N.Y., 13 Apr. 1845.
He enlisted in the Spring of 1780 in Capt. Peleg Heath's Co., Col. Samuel Wyllys' Regt., Conn. Line, and continued in service until the Fall of 1783. He was one of the Provost-Guard at the trial of Major André, and one of the guard who attended him to his execution. He became a Quaker, and for that reason did not push his application for a pension. He removed from West Hartford to Johnstown, N.Y., from there in 1825 to Palmyra, N.Y., thence in 1836 to Erie, Pa.
